Dioicous. Asexual reproduction by bulbils in leaf axils. Tufts on soil or rock, green, yellow-green, brownish green or blackish, glossy when moist. Stems 2–3 mm long, tomentose with reddish brown rhizoids near base. Leaves ±imbricate to somewhat twisted at tips when dry, ovate or cymbiform, 1.5–2 mm long, concave; apex obtuse; costa percurrent or ending below apex; margin entire, erect, with an indistinct border of narrower and longer cells; laminal cells in apical half irregularly hexagonal, 60–100 μm long, 20–30 μm wide, narrower and longer toward margin; basal laminal cells rectangular. Seta 10–15 mm long, pale brown. Capsule pendulous, oblong, 2–2.5 mm long, symmetric. Operculum low-conic.
