Grimmia reflexidens
Müll.Hal.Cladautoicous or goniautoicous. Asexual propagules absent. Cushions on rocks, olive-, greyish or blackish green. Stems 1–2 cm long, dark brown, with pale brown rhizoids toward base, central strand present. Leaves patent to spreading when moist, erecto-appressed when dry, ovate to lanceolate, 1–1.8 mm long, 0.25–0.45 mm wide, keeled, plane or very weakly plicate; apex acute, usually with a hairpoint; hairpoint hyaline, smooth or weakly denticulate, to 1.5 mm long; costa percurrent or excurrent as hairpoint; margins entire, plane or recurved in basal half on one side or occasionally both sides; laminal cells in apical half quadrate or short-rectangular, 5–13 μm long, 5–13 μm wide, smooth, bistratose in apical 2/3, straight walled or slightly sinuose, not distinctly incrassate, gradually transitioning into basal laminal cells; basal laminal cells quadrate to rectangular, 10–55 μm long, 7–15 μm wide, smooth. Setae 1.5–3 mm long, erect, straight, yellowish, twisted anticlockwise. Capsules exserted, erect, ovoid, 0.8–1 mm long, symmetric, yellowish or light brown. Opercula conic or rostrate from conic base, 0.1–0.6 mm long. Calyptrae cucullate. Peristome present.
VAlp. Recorded once in Victoria from the Razorback near Mount Hotham. Also NSW. Cosmopolitan.
