Plectorrhiza
Small epiphytes. Roots long, mostly aerial, often tangled, only a few attached to substrate. Stems long and somewhat wiry. Leaves relatively persistent, mostly narrowly oblong to elliptic, thin. Inflorescence racemose, arched or pendulous, more or less lateral to main stem. Flowers few, small, strongly fragrant; sepals and petals free, less than 6 mm long, more or less equal. Labellum immovable, indistinctly joined to short column foot, saccate, 3-lobed, spurred at rear; lateral lobes small, not touching column; mid-lobe small, hollow or fleshy; spur hollow with hirsute finger-like callus arising from anterior wall near orifice and pointing towards apex. Column erect, not winged, foot very short, in line with column; upper margin of stigma (rostellum) long, projected forward.
3 species, 2 confined to eastern Australia and one endemic to Lord Howe Island, 1 species occurring in Victoria.
