(Mitt.) GrollePlants light green, yellow green or olive green. Stems creeping, smooth, sometimes becoming flagelliform toward apex; branches emerging from stems laterally or occasionally ventrally. Specialised asexual propagules absent. Rhizoids scattered along entire stem. Leaves orbicular, quadrate, ovate or obovate, not lobed, 550–1900 μm long, 450–1400 μm wide, oriented away from substrate to widely spreading and leaf surface facing upwards, entire, rounded to retuse at apex. Underleaves absent. Leaf cells quadrate or polygonal, 22–55 μm long, 17–41 μm wide, thin-walled, with minute trigones, smooth, with 3–18 oil bodies; oil bodies spherical to ellipsoid, coarsely granular, brown. Androecia of 2–4 pairs of bracts each with a single antheridium. Gynoecium on abbreviated branches. Capsule 3–5-stratose. Elaters bispiral. Spores with narrow mesa-like projections.
