Atrichum androgynum
(Müll.Hal.) A.JaegerMonoicous or dioicous. Gregarious stems on soil. Stems erect, 2–6 cm long, simple, . Leaves erect-spreading when moist, crisped when dry, linear-lanceolate, 5.7–9.5 mm long, 0.9–1.5 mm wide, undulate, hardly sheathing at base; apex obtuse to acuminate; costa percurrent, with 3–6 lamellae, 2–5 cells high on adaxial surface, rarely without lamellae; margins doubly serrate, bistratose with a border of elongated yellowish cells; laminal cells subquadrate to ovate, 20–36 μm wide, smooth. Seta 1.5–4 cm long, reddish, smooth. Capsules erect or suberect, cylindric, slightly curved, 3.2–7.4 mm long.
VRiv, MuF, GipP, OtP, CVU, NIS, EGL, EGU, WPro, HSF, HNF, OtR, Strz, MonT, HFE, VAlp. In wet sclerophyll forest and rainforest in the Otways, Central Highlands, and Yarra Ranges east through Gippsland, with occasional occurrences in the valleys and foothills of the Victorian Alps. Also NSW, ACT and Tas. New Zealand, South Africa and South America north to Central America and the Caribbean.
