Pterostylis basaltica

Flowering plant to 25 cm tall, stem leaves 3–5, closely sheathing. Rosette leaves 8–15, elliptic, 1.5–2.8 cm long, 6–9 mm wide. Flowers 1–15, c. 1.4 cm long, transparent with green or greenish-brown markings and suffusions; dorsal sepal with a straight or upcurved filiform point 6–9 mm long; lateral sepals deflexed, conjoined part broadly ovate in outline when flattened, flat or shallowly concave, margins slightly incurved, sparsely ciliate, free points filamentous, 12–15 mm long, deflexed, nearly parallel, c. 5 mm apart at the tips; petals with a poorly developed proximal flange. Labellum narrow-ovate, 4.5–5.5 mm long, c. 3 mm wide, brownish, thick; marginal hairs 6–8 pairs, to 3 mm long, white, spreading, basal lobe swollen, whitish, with 4 hairs c. 1.5 mm long.
