Native to New South Wales, along the Great Dividing Range, and adjacent slopes and ranges between Dubbo and Sydney, south to Narooma and Kiandra.
Two subspecies recognised, one subspecies sparingly established in Victoria. See G. arenaria subsp. arenaria profile for description.
