Autoicous. Gregarious on rocks, to 4 mm tall, yellow- to olive-green. Stems to 1 (–2) mm long, simple or with one or two very short branches at base, orange-brown, glabrous. Leaves erect to erecto-patent when moist or dry, subulate from an elliptic to lanceolate base, 0.7–2.5 mm long, 0.15–0.3 mm wide, longest toward stem apex, base concave; apex long acuminate, with subula comprising up to 2/3 of leaf length, very tip rounded; costa percurrent; margin entire or slightly crenulated in shoulder, plane or recurved, without a border; laminal cells in subula and shoulder quadrate to short-rectangular, 5–18 μm long, 2.5–9 μm wide, smooth; basal cells rectangular, 17–85 μm long, 7–15 μm wide, smooth; alar cells not differentiated. Seta 1–3.5 mm long, yellow to light brown, smooth, twisted clockwise when dry. Calyptra mitrate, glabrous. Capsule erect, ovate, elliptic or oblong, straight, (0.3–) 0.4–0.6 mm long, light brown. Peristome of 16, often bifurcated teeth. Operculum rostrate from a flat or low-conic base, 0.25–0.3 mm long.
