Lobatiriccardia alterniloba
(Hook.f. & Taylor) FurukiDioicous. Specialised asexual propagules absent. Forming prostrate mats. Thallus bipinnate, (20–) 30–60 (–80) mm long, (2–) 3–6 (–10) mm wide, plane to concave dorsally and convex ventrally in transverse section, with acute margins, dentate in female plants, (5–) 7–12 (–15) cells thick, with a notch at the apex overtopped by growth on both sides and protected by non-persistent ventral mucilage papillae, with smooth cuticle. Oil bodies (1–) 2–5 (–8) per cell. Calyptra (3–) 5–8 (–10) mm long, smooth to tuberculate or tuberculate and ciliate.
GleP, VVP, GipP, OtP, GGr, EGL, WPro, HSF, HNF, OtR, Strz, VAlp. Widespread and common along and south of the Great Dividing Range on rock, soil and wood in wet-sclerophyll gullies and rainforests, often along creeks or at poorly drained sites. Also, New South Wales, Tasmania and New Zealand.
