Rhizomes and branches with internodes showing 4–12 cortical vascular bundles in cross-section. Branches (5–)25–40(–140) cm long, wiry, ± 'zig-zagged'. Leaf sheath open, persistent after distal part of lamina has fallen off. Inflorescence with 3–6 male and 3–6 female 'flowers' (Victorian species). Bracts enclosing anthers narrowly triangular, (0.5–)1–3.5 X 0.3–0.5 mm.
4 species; 2 in Victoria.
