VRiv, MuF, GipP, CVU, HSF. Also naturalised Qld, NSW. Naturally occurring from Venezuela to Brazil and south to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Naturalised in New Zealand. In Victoria known to have become established from nearby cultivated plants in the Benalla, Yarra Glen and Valencia Creek (near Maffra) areas, where recorded mainly from farm dams and slow-moving rivers.
