Erect or ascending much-branched annual herb 10–30 cm high; stems spreading and ascending. Leaves 10–40 mm long, green; leaflets articulate at base, linear to narrow-oblong, 5–20 mm long, 1.5–4 mm wide, fleshy, apex rounded; common petiole narrow. Sepals 4, ovate, 1.5–3 mm long, deflexed or spreading in fruit; petals 4, cuneate, 1–1.7 mm long, apex often 3-lobed or sometimes blunt with a wavy margin, white; stamens 8, filaments filiform, broadening towards base. Fruiting pedicels 1–4 mm long; fruit a 4-angled loculicidal capsule, turbinate, 5–7 mm long, drooping, truncate at apex with a short point; seeds usually 1 or 2 per cell. Flowers mostly May–Dec.

LoM, MuM, MSB, RobP. All mainland states. In Victoria, confined to the far north-west where found in mallee scrub and riverine woodland on sand or heavier clay soils.
