Erect shrub to 2 m high, much branched; young stems coarsely hairy. Leaves alternate, linear or linear-lanceolate, 6–12 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, ± glabrous, usually crowded. Inflorescence a terminal head, 6–30-flowered; involucral bracts leaf-like, slightly wider than leaves. Flowers yellow or pink; floral tube c. 8 mm long, pilose; sepals 2–3 mm long, ± erect; petals 8, scale-like; stamens 8. Flowers May (1 record).
OtP. Naturalised in NSW. Native to South Africa. In Victoria, known only coastal scrub near Jan Juc.
