Klatt Small-flower Onion-grassCorm obliquely flattened basally, with outer layers ± smooth except often split into numerous fibres at base and fibrous at apex. Stem absent. Leaves several, all basal, 6–20 cm long, 0.5–1.2 mm wide, subterete. Scape 2–5 cm long. Basal 'outer' primary bract 6–10 mm long, herbaceous, often with brown markings; margin dry and membranous; distal 'inner' primary bract 5–9 mm long, dry and membranous, with brown markings. Perianth tube 2–3 mm long, dull yellow; lobes elliptic, 5–9 mm long, pale pink to lilac, often shaded blue near the base and the acute apex. Staminal filaments 2–4 mm long, glabrescent; anthers 1.5–2 mm long. Style 4–6 mm long; stigmas just exceeding anthers. Capsule cylindric to obloid, 1–1.5 cm long; infructescence initially decurved, becoming straight at maturity. Flowers Aug.–Oct.
LoM, MuM, Wim, GleP, VVP, VRiv, RobP, MuF, GipP, OtP, Gold, CVU, GGr, DunT, NIS, HSF. Also naturalised in SA, NSW. Widespread on fertile ground, chiefly in northern Victoria.
