Autoicous. Plants 2–5 mm tall, branching, julaceous. Leaves erect, appressed, broadly ovate, c. 0.4–0.6 mm long, concave; apex obtuse, often truncate; costa subpercurrent; margin entire toward base, cristate-denticulate toward apex; laminal cells short-rhomboidal to hexagonal, becoming short rectangular toward base. Perichaetial leaves 7–9, uppermost c. 1.3–1.5 mm long; laminal cells in mid-leaf mostly rhomboidal or trapezoidal, c. 11–16 μm wide, 3–4 times longer than wide.
Gold. Known only on gravelly detritus collected in depressions in granitic rock on Mount Tarrengower near Maldon.
