Bauera
Shrubs; stems not winged. Stipules lacking. Leaves sessile trifoliolate, opposite, appearing as whorled simple leaves. Flowers bisexual, solitary in axils, sessile or pedicellate; sepals and petals each 4–10; sepals shortly united at base; petals free, exceeding sepals; stamens 4–many, free, anthers valvate; ovary superior or semi-inferior, 2-locular; ovules few–many per locule; styles 2, free. Fruit a loculicidal capsule or apparently indehiscent and nut-like; seeds horizontally arranged in the locules.
Endemic eastern Australian genus of 3 or 4 species. Formerly included in the Saxifragaceae, sometimes retained in the monotypic family Baueraceae.
