Hydrocotyle muscosa

Prostrate perennial, sparsely hairy to glabrescent, rooting at nodes, often mat-forming. Leaf-lamina 3–12 mm across, palmatisect with (3–)5 segments, upper surface shining, glabrous or with scattered hairs; segments narrow-cuneate, entire or 3(–5)-toothed; petiole 4–15 mm long, sparsely hairy to glabrous; stipules membranous, broad-oblong, entire, light brown. Umbels simple, leaf-opposed, globose, 2–3 mm diam., flowers usually 3 or 4; peduncle 3–5 mm long; pedicel to 0.5 mm long. Petals deep purple-red. Fruits c. 1.5 mm long, c. 2 mm wide, smooth, dark; mericarp dorsal and intermediate ribs prominent. Flowers spring and summer.
