Schelhammera
Rhizomatous, erect to prostrate, branched perennial herbs. Roots fibrous with occasional small tubers. Stems and leaves perennial, leaves several, distichous, lanceolate, cauline. Inflorescence a terminal ebracteate cymose umbel, or flowers single in upper axils. Flowers bisexual; perianth segments free, convolute around adjacent stamens in bud; stamens 6, filaments expanded at base, anthers basifixed, dehiscing by longitudinal slits; ovary superior, 3-locular, ovules in 2 rows, 4–6 per loculus; style 3-branched, stigmas minute. Fruit a loculicidal capsule; seeds ovoid, angular, strophiolate, brown.
2 species, both in Australia, 1 extending to New Guinea; 1 species in Victoria.
