Dendrophthoe
Aerial shrubs, spreading or pendulous, nearly glabrous; epicortical runners usually present. Leaves opposite, subopposite or alternate, penninerved. Inflorescence an axillary raceme (in Victoria) or spike or reduced to 1 or 2 flowers; bract 1 per flower. Flowers pedicellate; calyx entire or toothed; petals 5, united to the middle or higher into a curved tube, yellow to red, tube inflated near middle, lobes unequal; stamens 5, equal, anthers basifixed, immobile, introrse, 4-celled. Fruit succulent, berry-like.
About 30 species, from tropical Africa through South-east Asia to Australia; 6 species in Australia.
