Pterostylis reflexa
R.Br.Flowering plant to 15 cm tall, stem leaves 3–5. Rosette leaves 3–6, ovate, 0.8–15 cm long, 0.4–1 cm wide, petiolate, margins entire. Flower solitary, 2–3 cm long, partially nodding, green and white with pink to red or red-brown suffusions in the galea; dorsal sepal with a filiform point 6–12 mm long; lateral sepals erect, tightly embracing the galea, sinus broadly V-shaped, protruding in a shallow curve when viewed from the side, free points 20–25 mm long, filiform, erect; petals with sharply pointed tips that often cross. Labellum narrowly ovate-lanceolate, long-acuminate, 12–17 mm long, c. 3.5 mm wide, dark red-brown, curved, the distal half protruding from the sinus in the set position. Flowers Apr.–Jun.
EGL, EGU, HSF, HFE, VAlp. Also NSW. Restricted and uncommon in Victoria, growing on moist granitic slopes in open-forest and in coastal scrub.
Part of a complex at present under study. The name Pterostylis longipetala has been applied to Victorian plants in the past.
