2 subspecies. Only B. ericifolia subsp. ericifolia naturalised in Victoria. This subspecies is distinguished from B. ericifolia subsp. macrantha (A.S. George) A.S.George by the shorter perianth and pistil (to 22 mm and 35 mm long respectively), and the more prominently toothed juvenile leaves.
