Petalophyllum
Plants comprising a simple or furcate thallus; thallus wings undissected or only partly incised, with erect adaxial lamellae. Antheridia in 2 or 3 rows along the central axis, protected by extensions of the lamellae. Pseudoperianth with or without (not in Victoria) irregular wings, sinuate (not in Victoria) to deeply lobed with dentate to ciliate margins at mouth. Spores light to dark red-brown.
Five species rarely recorded in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Algeria, USA, Bolivia, New Zealand and south-east Australia (Söderström et al. 2016); one species, Petalophyllum preissii Gottsche, in Victoria.
