MuM, VVP, VRiv, MuF, GipP, Gold, CVU, NIS, HSF, Strz. Also naturalised NSW. Native to Europe and western Asia. Only confirmed from Melbourne General Cemetery.
This subspecies is difficult to distinguish from subsp. crinita which seems to be far more widespread in Victoria. Only one specimen could be unequivocally determined as subsp. elatine but the diagnostic feature may need to be reassessed (see subp. crinita).
