Frullania deplanata
Mitt.Epiphytic, olive-green to brown. Stems irregularly pinnately branched. Mid stem and branch lateral leaf lobes elliptic, 0.53–1.15 mm long, 0.43–0.95 mm wide, with rounded apex, not angled away from substrate when moist, imbricate; cells oblong to elliptic, becoming rounded-quadrate at margin, 12–28 µm long and 7–23 µm wide at margins, 15–43 µm long and 12–25 µm wide near centre, 20–50 µm long and 15–38 µm wide at base, with prominent trigones throughout, without intermediate thickenings. Lobule falcate with longest axis diverging from stem, 0.28–0.43 mm long, 0.15–0.28 mm wide, with truncate apex; cells irregular, 15–28 µm long, 10–20 µm wide, with prominent trigones and intermediate thickenings throughout. Stylus a single row of 4 cells, rarely 2 cells wide at base. Underleaves broadly obovate to pentagonal in outline, bifid to 1/3 of length, otherwise entire, 0.28–0.6 mm long, 0.28–0.65 mm wide, flat; sinus acute; cells irregular, 12–33 µm long, 12–23 µm wide, with prominent trigones and intermediate thickenings throughout. Perianth obovate-oblong, inflated, with only two lateral keels, 1.6–2.15 mm long, 0.8–1.2 mm wide, obtuse to emarginate at apex with long beak, smooth; keels entire.
VVP, CVU, EGU, HSF, OtR, Strz, MonT, VAlp. Recorded from montane and wet forest from Mount Macedon, the Dandenongs, the Yarra Ranges, the Strzelecki Range and East Gippsland. Also NSW, Tas and New Zealand.
