  Annuals, biennials or short-lived perennials, usually with a stout taproot, glabrous. Leaves 1–3-pinnate, ultimate divisions ovate to linear, toothed or lobed; petioles sheathing at base. Inflorescence a terminal or axillary compound umbel. Flowers bisexual; sepals absent or minute; petals broad-obovate, with a narrow, inflexed tip; nectary low-conical. Fruit ovoid to oblong, laterally flattened; mericarps with 5 prominent filiform ribs; carpophore persistent, apically notched.
About 5 species, native to Europe; 1 species naturalised in Australia.
