Decumbent, shrubby perennial to 75 cm high. Leaves sessile, bifoliolate, green; leaflets lanceolate, elliptic or obovate, 7–18 mm long, 2–6.5 mm wide, acute or mucronate. Sepals 5, ovate, c. 6.5 mm long, deflexed in fruit; petals 5, cuneate to obovate, 8–11 mm long, rounded, white with purple streaks; stamens 10, filaments not winged. Fruiting pedicles 20–25 mm long; fruit subglobose capsules, c. 13.5 mm long and 11 mm wide, 5-angled, obtuse, apiculate.
Recorded from Coode Island, Melbourne (Oct. 1908), but apparently it has not persisted there or become established elsewhere in Victoria. Native to South Africa.
