Leaves oblong-obovate, 1.5–2.5 mm long, 0.6–0.8 mm wide, concave to subtubulose adaxially; costa ending below base of cusp; apex cuspidate. Seta 4–6 mm long. Capsule narrowly pyriform to obovoid-cylindric, 1.8–2.5 mm long. Operculum low conic. Peristome double; endostome 1/4–1/3 height of teeth. Spores finely lirate-murate, 39–45 μm diameter.
MuM, Wim, GleP, GipP, Gold, EGL. Widespread throughout the state on bare soil in disturbed sites (e.g. roadsides), open areas, near creeks and in drainage lines, and among sclerophyll woodland. WA, NT, SA, NSW and Tas.
