Annual, bristly herbs. Leaves pinnately divided. Inflorescence a lateral raceme borne opposite a leaf. Sepals erect; petals with claw c. 3–5 mm long; stamens 6; ovary sessile. Fruit body subglobular, fertile, 3-veined, dehiscent, terminated by leaf-like style.
Single species, native to Mediterranean region (Spain to Persia).
