Templetonia stenophylla
(F.Muell.) J.M.Black Leafy TempletoniaGlabrous subshrub to 0.6 m high; stems few, erect, prostrate or straggling. Leaves oblong to linear, 1–7 cm long, 0.2–0.6 cm wide; apex obtuse or shortly mucronate; stipules inconspicuous. Flowers 1 or 2 per axil; pedicels glabrous, 4–8 mm long, with a basal bract and a pair of ovate bracteoles at or above midway; calyx 4–8 mm long, the 2 upper lobes united except for the short acute apices, glabrous except for hairs on margins of lobes; ovary stipitate, glabrous. Pod obliquely oblong-elliptic, 1.6–2.6 cm long, on a stipe which exceeds the calyx, 1–8-seeded; seeds elliptic, reddish-brown. Flowers Sep.–Oct.
LoM, MuM, Wim, VVP, VRiv, MuF, Gold, CVU, GGr, DunT, NIS. Also SA, Qld, NSW. Fairly widespread but uncommon, in western, central and northern Victoria. Favours dry sclerophyll forest, streambanks and open situations.
