Solanum simile
F.Muell. OondorooErect shrub to 2 m high, green, almost glabrous except for minute simple hairs on corolla apices; prickles absent. Leaves elliptic to lanceolate, mostly 3–8 cm long, 1–2 cm wide, apex acute, base attenuate, usually entire, concolorous, glabrous; petiole to 10 mm long; juvenile leaves often much larger and shallowly lobed towards base. Inflorescences simple or forked at base, to 12-flowered; primary peduncle 0–1 cm long. Flowers on pedicels to 2.5 cm long; calyx 3–5 mm long, lobes broad-triangular, 2–3 mm long; corolla rotate, usually 20–30 mm diam., violet, lobes notched; anthers 2–2.5 mm long. Berry globose, 10–15 mm diam., green to purplish; seeds 2–2.5 mm long, grey to dark brown; stone-cell granules 1–3 mm long. Flowers mostly spring and summer.
