Ozothamnus retusus
Sond. & F.Muell. Rough EverlastingErect shrub to c. 1.5 m high; branchlets densely cottony, not viscid. Leaves spreading, sessile, c. linear, 4–18 mm long, 0.5–2.5 mm wide, glabrous and scabrous above, densely cottony and glandular beneath, apex retuse or emarginate or a few leaves with minutely decurved-mucronate point, base decurrent into 2 prominent green, glab-rous ridges, margins revolute. Inflorescences c. hemispherical, 3–5.5 cm diam. Capitula 40–100, cream to yellow, turbinate, 3.5–4.5 mm long, 1.5–2.5 mm wide; involucral bracts 20–30, innermost boat-shaped, with lamina deltoid, 0.5–1 mm long, erect, cream to yellow, margin entire, incurved; receptacle bracts 0–4; female florets 0–4; hermaphrodite florets 8–22. Cypsela cylindric, c. 0.8 mm long, sparsely papillose; pappus bristles c. 2–3 mm long, apex narrow clavate. Flowers Oct.–Dec.
LoM, MuM, Wim, VRiv, Gold, CVU, GGr. Also SA. In Victoria mostly in mallee areas of the north-west, but with scattered occurrences on rocky ground further east (e.g. Bacchus Marsh, Bendigo).
