Similar to Gastrodia sesamoides, but stem weak, 5–20 cm tall; flowers 1–3, 10–12 mm long, perianth not spreading widely; labellum 9–11 mm long, c. 3 mm wide. Flowers Nov.–Dec.
GleP, OtP. Also SA (south-east corner). Apparently rare in Victoria where currently known from the extreme south-west and the Otway Ranges in dense heathy forest or shrubland among leaf litter in sandy loam.
This species can be easily mistaken for depauperate specimens of G. sesamoides.
