A widespread and variable species with 5 named varieties in Australia and a number of informally recognised entities yet to be fully circumscribed (see synonymy under D. revolata var. revoluta). Until a detailed revision has been completed, it is not possible here to present accounts or keys to the various members of the complex. Of the named varieties, only D. revoluta var. revoluta is currently recognised for Victoria. See profile under that name.
