Wim, VVP, GipP, OtP, WaP, Gold, CVU, GGr, NIS, EGL, EGU, WPro, HSF, HNF, OtR, Strz, MonT, HFE, VAlp. Also Qld, NSW, Tas. Generally a medium to tall shrub or small tree of gullies, streamsides and moist shaded forests.
A distinctive form occurs near the snowline below Mts Bogong and Hotham. It has large pinkish to mauve flowers and is usually a rounded shrub to c. 1.5 m high.
