Orianthera nuda

C.S.P.Foster & B.J.Conn Bare LoganiaErect undershrub with rush-like stems to c. 50 cm high; branches opposite, occasionally clustered, often ending in a weak spine; minutely papillose, glabrous. Leaves reduced to triangular scales, usually 1–2 mm long. Inflorescence of 1–3 bisexual flowers. Calyx 2.2–3.5 mm long, lobes ovate to narrow-ovate; corolla 4–5.5 mm long, tube 1.7–2.5 mm long, c. one-third to as long as lobes, lobes oblong to somewhat ovate, obtuse, outer surface papillose to densely hairy, inner surface with long dense hairs below, becoming sparser and papillose above mouth. Capsules 5–5.5 mm long. Flowers Oct.–Feb.
LoM, MuM, RobP. Also WA, SA, NSW. Uncommon to rare in Victoria and confined to mallee communities in the far north-west, usually occurring in deep sand, often appearing following fire.
