Gonocarpus micranthus
Thunb.Short-lived perennial herb, prostrate, ascending or erect, 5–60 cm tall; stems rooting at nodes, smooth, glabrous or sparsely scabrous. Leaves opposite, orbicular, ovate, lanceolate-ovate to cordate, 0.3–1.5 cm long, 0.3–10 mm wide, glabrous, base rounded or cordate, margins thickened, with 8–20 small crenate teeth; petiole 0.6–2 mm long; bracts alternate, lanceolate, 0.5–1 mm long, entire, deciduous; bracteoles orbicular, 0.1–0.2 mm long, entire or minutely serrate, brown, deciduous. Inflorescence unbranched or branched to the second order (rarely to the third or fourth order). Flowers pendent, pedicel 0.1–0.3 mm long; sepals 0.4–0.5 mm long, basally saccate; petals reddish, 0.8–1.5 mm long; stamens 8, anthers 0.7–0.9 mm long; ovary obovoid, 0.6–0.9 mm long, red to grey, shiny, prominently 8-ribbed, glabrous. Fruit 0.7–0.9 mm long.
