Vicia monantha
Retz. Spurred VetchProcumbent to erect or climbing annual herb; stems to 80 cm long, angular, sparsely hairy. Leaves 5–7 cm long excluding the often pinnate tendril; leaflets 8–16, linear, oblong or elliptic, 5–30 mm long, 1–8 mm wide, lower surface sparsely pubescent, upper surface glabrous; stipules semi-sagittate, 2–6 mm long, usually entire. Flowers 1–5, pedunculate; peduncle to c. 6 cm long; pedicel c. 1 mm long; calyx campanulate, 3–6 mm long, sparsely pubescent, base slightly gibbous, teeth narrow-triangular, unequal, shorter than calyx tube; corolla 10–20 mm long, violet or blue; standard oblong, conduplicate, hardly longer than wings, limb equal to or shorter than claw; keel shortest, blue-tipped. Pod oblong, 2–5 cm long, 8–12 mm wide, compressed, yellow-brown, glabrous; seeds 3–7, subglobose, 2.5–5.5 mm long, somewhat compressed, brown or blackish, mottled.
