Sisymbrium irio
L. London RocketAnnual or biennial, to 60 cm high, glabrous or with scattered curved hairs. Leaves not in basal rosette, to 16 cm long, deeply pinnately dissected with 2–6 pairs of lateral lobes, margins toothed, leaves smaller towards inflorescence, sometimes entire. Sepals 2–3 mm long; petals 2–4 mm long. Fruit spreading, linear, moniliform, curved, 2.5–7 cm long, c. 1 mm wide; style c. 0.5 mm long, with slightly swollen apex; pedicels spreading, slender, 6–10 mm long. Flowers spring.
LoM, MuM, Wim, VVP, VRiv, MSB, RobP, MuF, GipP, OtP, Gold, CVU, NIS, HSF, VAlp. Naturalized all in all States. Probably native to southern Europe, northern Africa, India. Mainly a weed of the north-west but common in and around Melbourne.
