Autoicous or dioicous. Stems to 3 mm long. Leaves oblong to ovate, 0.7–1.5 mm long, 0.4–0.65 mm wide, concave; apices obtuse to rounded; costae excurrent in a smooth hyaline hair-point 0.2–0.5 mm long or rarely a mucro; filaments 4–9 cells long, terminal cells with 1–4 mamillae; margins entire, recurved; cells quadrate to rectangular, 10–24 μm long, mostly smooth, rarely papillose or pluripapillose; basal cells quadrate to rectangular, 14–50 μm long, smooth. Setae 5–10 mm long. Capsules cylindric to ovoid, 1.3–2.2 mm long. Opercula conic, 0.5–0.8 mm long. Peristome of 32 twisted filaments.
