Prunella laciniata
(L.) L. Cut-leaf Self-healProstrate to decumbent herb; branches to c. 40 cm long, often rooting at lower nodes, densely white-hirsute. Leaves ovate in outline, 1–5 cm long, 1–3 cm wide, at least the upper leaves deeply pinnatifid or lyrate with narrow segments, surfaces sparsely to densely white-hirsute, apex usually obtuse; lower leaves usually entire, ovate; petiole 0–4 cm long. Inflorescence c. 1–3 cm long; bracts very broadly cordate, c. 4–10 mm long, with a slender apical point. Calyx 8–11 mm long, teeth of abaxial lip longer than adaxial lip; corolla 15–17 mm long, tube barely exceeding calyx, yellowish-white, rarely rose-pink or purplish; abaxial pair of stamens inserted near the middle and adaxial pair inserted near throat of corolla-tube. Mericarps 2–2.5 mm long. Flowers Nov.–Apr.
VVP, GipP, CVU, Strz. Also naturalised NSW, Tas. Native to Europe. Naturalised in New Zealand. Rare in Victoria, scattered through cooler parts, usually in moist, shaded sites.
