Slender herb to c. 15 cm high, few-branched or simple. Leaves linear to narrow-lanceolate, 2–15 mm long, 0.5–2 mm wide, those at the base largest, but often withered at flowering. Flowers 1–several, on erect pedicels to 6 cm long. Calyx c. ovoid, 2.5–3.5 mm long, lobes deltoid, c. 1 mm long; corolla yellow, tubular part equal to or shortly exceeding and closely enclosed by calyx, lobes spreading, ovate, 1.6–3 mm long, blunt. Capsule ovoid, 3–4 mm long. Flowers Sep.–Dec.
