Bedfordia arborescens
Hochr. Blanket LeafShrub or small tree to c. 8 m high. Leaves oblong to narrow-elliptic or lanceolate, mostly 10–25 cm long and 2–5 cm wide, apex acute to rounded, margins entire to crenate, upper surface dark green and glabrous with main veins impressed, lower surface white-tomentose with veins obscured; petiole 10–20 mm long, tomentose. Capitula 3–4 mm diam., many in upper-axillary panicles; involucral bracts 6–9, linear-lanceolate, 4–6 mm long, white-tomentose. Florets 10–20, yellow or orange. Cypselas 2–3 mm long; pappus 4–6 mm long. Flowers Oct.–Feb.
Wim, VVP, VRiv, MuF, GipP, OtP, WaP, Gold, CVU, NIS, EGL, EGU, WPro, HSF, HNF, OtR, Strz, MonT, HFE, VAlp. Also NSW, ACT. A common component of wet sclerophyll forests, particularly in fern gullies and on rainforest margins.
