Calomeria
Biennial herb; young growth viscid, glabrous to tomentose. Leaves alternate, sessile, stem-clasping, auriculate at base. Inflorescences pyramidal, spreading, leafy at the base. Capitula cylindric, hyaline, brown to maroon; involucral bracts several-seriate, lanceolate, hyaline, yellow or reddish with lamina narrow-triangular, erect, flat, plicate, margins entire; receptacle bracts and female florets absent; bisexual florets tubular, 5-lobed, anthers tailed at base; style branches truncate, papillose. Cypselas without pappus.
A monotypic genus, endemic to southern Australia. Closely allied to Apalochlamys but lacking pappus and receptacle bracts.
