Luzula meridionalis var. meridionalis
Plants typically bulbous at base. Leaf margins densely ciliate. Tepals 2.7–3.3 mm long, generally mid-brown to dark reddish brown with or without narrow pale margins; anthers 0.7–1.3 mm long; capsule slightly shorter than or equal to tepals, pale to dark reddish brown. Flowers mainly Sep.–Dec.
Wim, GleP, VVP, VRiv, MuF, GipP, OtP, WaP, Gold, CVU, GGr, DunT, NIS, EGL, EGU, WPro, HSF, HNF, OtR, Strz, MonT, HFE, VAlp. All states except NT, Qld. Occurs mostly in dryish woodland and open-forest communities, chiefly west and northeast of Melbourne, uncommon in the Wimmera and East Gippsland, rarely occurring above the snowline.
