All florets tubular. Ray florets absent. Flowers and fruits throughout the year, with a peak Nov.-Dec.

In Australia naturalised in all mainland States and Territories. In Victoria, known from several degraded urban sites in Melbourne (Balwyn, Flemington, Strathmore), and Hattah in northwest Victoria, and Sale in eastern Victoria.
