Treubia
Terrestrial, rarely lithophytic or on logs, dioicous, with both male and female plants similar in size. Asexual reproduction sometimes by ovoid to obovoid gemmae produced in axils of adaxial lobules. Stems unbranched or freely to sparingly branched; branches emerging from main fleshy axis laterally between leaf-like segments. Leaf-like segments yellow- to deep green; abaxial lobe semicircular to oblong-lingulate, contiguous to imbricate, rounded or retuse at apex; adaxial lobules crescentic to semicircular, remote to imbricate. Oil cells few or abundant throughout tissue. Antheridia in axils of adaxial lobules, short- (not in Victoria) to long-stalked. Sporophytes arising from axil of adaxial lobules, elevated above axis by shoot calyptra. Capsule cylindric-ellipsoid or globose (not in Victoria), 3–5-stratose. Spores globose, areolate on distal face, obscurely papillate on proximal face, yellow- to pale-brown, shed singly.
Seven species, one from Malesia to Samoa, one from Tahiti, one from Chile, and four in New Zealand, two of which extend to south-east Australia (Schuster & Scott 1969); two species in Victoria.
