Reichardia
Annual to perennial taprooted herb. Leaves basal and cauline, alternate, entire to pinnatisect, the cauline ones amplexicaul. Capitula pedunculate, terminal, usually solitary; involucre campanulate, bracts imbricate, many-seriate, unequal; receptacle flat, naked, pitted. Florets bisexual, ligulate, more or less equal, mostly yellow; ligule broad-linear; anthers sagittate at base, with a short dark obtuse apical appendage; style bilobed, with linear finely papillose branches. Outer cypselas ellipsoid to terete, 4- or 5-angled, glabrous, transversely rugose; inner cypselas often abortive, smoother, paler; pappus multiseriate, of simple bristles connate at base.
