Dioicous. Asexual propagules absent. Mats on rocks and trees, olive-green to yellow-green, to 30 mm tall. Stems brown to red, tomentose with brown rhizoids where in contact with substrate. Branch leaves spirally twisted around branch, with apex curved outwards when dry, erect and straight to twisted when moist, narrowly lanceolate, 2.3–4 mm long, 0.3–0.4 mm wide, carinate toward apex; apex acuminate to long-cuspidate; costa ending below apex to excurrent; margin entire, plane, without a border; laminal cells in apical half rounded to elliptic, 5–12 μm long, 4–10 μm wide, slightly bulging, smooth, partly bistratose in apical third near costa; basal laminal cells gradually becoming rectangular, 20–40 μm long, 5–10 μm wide, smooth. Seta 3.5–8 mm long, brown, smooth, twisted anticlockwise. Calyptra glabrous. Capsules erect, fusiform-ovoid to cylindric, 1.5–3 mm long, straight, brown. Peristome double; exostome 16, erect-curved when dry, incurved when moist; endostome a membrane 1–3 cells high. Operculum rostrate, 0.8–1.5 mm long.
