Glabrous annual or perennial herbs with slender taproots. Leaves 1–3-pinnate with narrow-lanceolate, linear or filiform segments, petiolate. Inflorescence a compound umbel, terminal and lateral; involucral bracts absent or few and linear; bracteoles absent or few. Flowers bisexual or polygamous, white; sepals vestigial or absent; petals obovate, apex inflexed; nectary conical. Fruit globose to ellipsoid; vittae absent; mericarps globose, without prominent ridges; carpophore absent.
5 species native to Europe, temperate North America, Asia and North Africa; 1 species naturalised in Australia.
