2 subspecies native to Algeria; Linaria bordiana subsp. kralikiana was collected in Victoria over 50 years ago. It is distinguished from the nominate subspecies by its sparsely glandular inflorescence with fewer (2–15) flowers and by their purple, crimson or deep pink corolla.
